Older steel lintels are prone to rust as they usually are not sealed/primed properly or have simply warn off. Consequently there is exposed rust which requires removal down to bare metal. If you are willing to do the prep work, then our AFM MetalCoat Primer and AFM Exterior Satin Paint will work well. If not, and there is rust showing, we do not have a non-toxic option.
