Which glossy varnish can I use on a painted table? I used a previous eco varnish on it about 20 years ago on this table that had a been painted with artists oil paints and it has a thick rich golden gloss that I love but due to dining room abuse it has a few dings. I thought it was made with walnuts and it didn't smell or off gas. I wish I still had the can because I don't remember its name but I did get it at a green building supplier

AFM Acrylacq produces a clear topical coating over water-based finishes only. None of our water-based finishes will adhere to oil-based paints. For that, we recommend one coat of AFM Transitional Primer, let dry 24 hours, then apply two coats of EcoLacq in a gloss finish. Ecolacq is a tintable version of Acrylacq and can be tinted to any color using AFM's colors or any major brand.
