We have sealers that block in synthetic chemical off-gassing, but they aren't designed for organic odors. I'm not sure they will effectively mask the smell from your headboard, but it will probably help.
Acrylacq by AFM is a clear, non-toxic water-based lacquer that will seal and protect the wood. Wood should be clean and free of other varnishes for best results. Acrylacq encapsulates most VOCs and creates a durable matte finish.
It has a very low VOC content and does not off-gas or smell once dry (24-48 hours). We recommend at least two coats.
