Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey Exterior Stain and Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Oil. Both work very well to protect the deck. Both are non-toxic and low or no VOC, however, neither company tests products on pets. Because pets are unique like humans, you will have to test each product to make sure they can tolerate. Make sure you let the finish dry before testing.
