SAMPLE - Bioshield, Herbal Oil Q&A
Activity timeframe
Could you compare BioShield Herbal Oil and AFM Safecoat Naturals Clear Penetrating Oilwhy might I prefer one over the other? And does one of them amber the wood more than the other? I'm considering something for a new butcher block countertop which will have food on itbut I would like to tone down the appearance if possible. View answer

Loving this product so far. However, I'm confused on what's the best protocol for sanding. I've heard that before applying oils/sealers, it's best to sand a little, as it 'roughs up' the surface a bit to allow for better oil penetration. Is this true? Also, on the official "Technical Information and Application" PDF for this product, it states "For best absorbency, all surfaces should be sanded NO FINER than #100". But this leaves the surface fairly rough - can I not sand it more finely, creating a smoother wood surface? Thanks a bunch! View answer

I'd love to use this for children's toys I make. I know the data sheet says lead free, but do you have any testing documents you could share? Without actual test results I would still have to send this for testing to be compliant with the requirements for making children's products. View answer

I am looking for a non toxic way to seal my cedar foot tub. Can you tell me what product would work to withstand me putting hot water into it each week? It leaks currently. I want the most safe product possible as it will get hot and I am using it for foot detox baths. Thank you View answer
