We have a crawl space that smells musty, but see no mold. It is very dry, and also has a crawl space dehumidifier. The floor/walls are sealed with plastic and insulation. But the musty smell is still there, and has permeated the room above. Would this help with that odor, if I treated the floor joists with it? Or should I also treat the foundation under the insulation? Last summer I sprayed it all with bac-a-zap but that didn't seem to do anything. No the Caliwel will not do anything for the musty smell. What we would suggest is putting a ventilations fan in the area to circulate the air better. If there is still an odor then you may want to check behind the insulation and plastic just to verify that no moisture has gotten behind them.
