We reached out to Caliwel to check your plan against their product and here is what they had to say. Test a small area before proceeding over to entire rough hewn cedar substrate. Apply two coats of Caliwel Industrial Mold and Mildew Inhibitor over the entire area (let first coat dry overnight before applying second coat). Caliwel Industrial Mold and Mildew Inhibitor will reach deep into the substrate and will KILL bacterial, fungal and viral organisms/spores (will not encapsulate you don't want that). Going over Concrobium we have seen many times so far, Caliwel Industrial Mold and Mildew Inhibitor works fine but there are many variables and we cannot guarantee results if other products are used in conjunction with Caliwel products. Wait at least two weeks after applying the Caliwel before applying top coat finish of your choice to cover the stains. At GBS we would recommend going over with AFM Safecoat Zero VOC Paint.
