The BNA is the secret sauce, so to speak, that keeps the pH levels at 12.4 and allows the paint to inhibit mold and mildew for up to 6 years or longer. Otherwise, the pH levels drop off quickly and the paint is subject to mold and mildew all over again. This is what took the company years to invent and perfect including 3 separate EPA approvals. We've tested this on our own concrete basement walls and are very happy with the results. This product emits zero VOCs and produces no odor when dry. It applies just like normal paint and requires no primer.
