I see it says it is for wood, but then later mentions it's not recommended for certain woods. I don't know much about tannins. What would you recommend I use before paint. For raw / freshly sanded wood, we would recommend AFM Safecoat Ecolacq Sandable Primer instead of AFM Transitional Primer. Ecolacq is formulated to bond to wood, whereas the Transitional Primer is formulated to go over previously treated/painted surfaces.
