I plan to paint over some oak wood trim. I will give it a light sanding first as it is covered in a glossy finish. Would this primer work? I see it says it is for wood, but then later mentions it's not recommended for certain woods. I don't know much about tannins. What would you recommend I use before paint. (I plan to use AFM for the paint.)

For raw / freshly sanded wood, we would recommend AFM Safecoat Ecolacq Sandable Primer instead of AFM Transitional Primer. Ecolacq is formulated to bond to wood, whereas the Transitional Primer is formulated to go over previously treated/painted surfaces.
