I want to seal plywood and/or mdf to prevent off-gassing, but also want a hard/durable finish on the inside of drawers. Does it work to use AFM Safe Seal, then follow that with Acrylac?

We would recommend you use Hard Seal instead for your base coat(s). (SafeSeal is not meant to be seen, and is recommended for use behind the scenes). If you want a high level of abrasion resistance/toughness, follow the Hard Seal with Polyureseal BP.
