20 years ago we used a " natural"oil wax (my memory thinks it was called OS wax) on the 6" maple plank floor that's in our kitchen and throughout the 1st floor. I remember a feature: supposedly you could just clean & lightly sand worn areas and reapply, and it would blend... Can I do this with Safe Coat, or do I have to sand the whole floor? The whole kitchen area is pretty worn down and grey, so I need to "refinish" that area and blend with the golden color of the floor that has been under rugs.

You'll never be able to make anything match aged floor. But AFM Oil Wax Finish is able to be "feathered" in like that, yes. I suggest you first order a small sample online to test and see what it feels like. That gives you the best idea of how it acts and how you will need to work with it.
