Hard Seal is a clear topical coat for interior use only, so while this will protect the wood from abrasion and stop it from off-gassing chemicals, it is not going to do much to prevent the wood from fading in direct sunlight. If fading is a concern, we recommend a stain. The darker the stain color, the more it will prevent fading from UV rays.
