I recall that you said there's no difference between Safe Seal and Hard Seal when it comes to reducing off gassing... that the only difference is the finish... did I understand that correctly? Could either be used to seal the exposed under- and back-sides of an old laminate kitchen countertop? I'm guessing the exposed parts are compressed particle board.

AFM Safecoat Safe Seal was designed for porous surfaces like wood, composites, plywood, MDF, OSB, chipboard, etc. AFM Safecoat Hard Seal was designed for non-porous surfaces such as lacquered or painted surfaces like fiberglass, etc. Both were made to seal off-gassing of VOCs. Hard Seal dries hard, and Safe Seal dries softer to the touch.
