I am looking to seal what appear to be MDF boards that have been used for the drawer bottoms and back of a new dresser against formaldehyde off-gassing. The boards have a shiny surface--only the edges are raw. I don't know whether this is a feature of MDF or whether they have been coated with acrylic. Would you recommend the SafeCoat safe seal or hard seal for this purpose?

AFM SafeCoat Safe Seal should only be used on wood or composite wood material that is porous like MDF, chipboard, plywood, etc. Hard Seal is for non-porous surfaces that have been previously sealed like lacquer, paint, fiberglass, etc.
