Glue down applications must be to a solid stable surface that is perfectly flat. You will need to make that judgment call. Otherwise, floating is always possible.The manufacturer recommends gluing whenever there is excessive moisture, excessive heat or excessive traffic. That means kids and dogs, tenants, and you get the idea. If it's just you and your partner, floating is fine.
