The waterproof cork is like any other floor with regard to yes, if exposed to grit, dirt and salt it will wear the floor down. This is best prevented by having a doormat that is used when you come in from outside. Wipe your feet before moving on to the inside of the house, or better yet, take off your shoes. Your floor will last longer.
