Waterproof Cork is different from traditional cork because it is impregnated with high density polyethylene HDPE which is a food grade plastic. This is very tough, much like gallon milk containers and when it saturates the cork becomes highly dense and resistant to weight and denting. We've tested it on our refrigerator for two days and found almost imperceptible dents which popped out after several days. Cork has an excellent memory which is why it can be used in wine bottles successfully for decades. Having said this, we always recommend using a plastic, wood or even cork spacer underneath the feet of heavy furniture and appliances to spread the load and reduce indentations over time.
