The Vermont PolyWhey can be used over an oil product IF that oil coat is dry and older. A fresh coat of oil, we have doubts about whether you can get a good bond with the PolyWhey. The chief thing you need to accomplish for these to work together is the PolyWhey needs to be able to penetrate into the wood. If that wood is saturated with a fresh oil coat then you need to sand until that wood will accept a penetrating product again. This might mean you are sanding off the entire Penetrating Oil Coat, which feels counterproductive. You are welcome to test to see if you can get it to work for your specific situation.
