The only truly food grade product (i.e. edible) would be a plant based oil, such as AFM Safecoat Naturals Clear Penetrating Oil. And that has to be applied directly to raw wood and not over paint. Although the glossy AFM HardSeal is non toxic and produces no hazardous air pollutants, it is not edible. It can be used over paint, but was designed to block VOC emissions and is not for eating.We know of no paint that is truly food grade.
