AFM SafeCoat, Safe Seal is meant exactly for that. It's a water-based, low-gloss sealer for highly porous surfaces - mainly on surfaces that are behind the scenes, i.e. not seen or touched, as it can remain slightly tacky after drying. If the MDF or pressed wood has a veneer/skin of melamine or any non-porous surface, Safe Seal should not be applied to that surface. It should be applied only to the exposed edges where raw MDF or particleboard/pressed wood is visible. So just make sure to apply something, such as flooring, over it fairly soon. Please note: On pressure-treated wood, the chemicals need to dry out and that can take 6 months or longer. It may not perform as intended if the substrate has not fully cured.Conversely, the AFM SafeCoat Naturals Clear Penetrating Oil is NOT made to seal in off-gassing. Oils will not do it, you need some sort of topical coat.
