Old wood furniture scented with petroleum solvents, essential oils or perfumes are difficult to remove as they've usually been deeply embedded into the wood for years. Our AFM Safecoat products will encapsulate most VOCs, but not organic odors like perfume. Also, oil-based products often are difficult for our water-based product to adhere to. We are testing new products all the time, but currently have not found a product that is non-toxic and will remove these types of odors. Should you find something that works well and is not toxic, please let us know.
