We are creating "hides" for small animals and reptiles out of PVC and other plastic products. We are using a water based "oil" paint to create "logs" for use in animal habitats out our zoo. We are needing a non-toxic clear sealer to protect the paint from wear. Our main concern is toxicity to the animals. Some are rodents and will chew the product. Also, does the sealer come in a spray?I saw a comment that the sealer seemed like decoupage. Would it be possible for us to mix the sealer with our paint to create a texture on our "logs?"

According to AFM Safecoat, they recommend AFM Acriglaze. It's non-toxic with the texture of paint. It can be mixed with pigments to create different effects. It's only available in quarts or gallons for use with a brush or roller.
