Hello, my husband sanded, stained, and used a poly finish on some shelving. Do you have a product that would rid the lingering strong odor?

Yes, the Hard Seal will block VOC emissions, if and only if the poly finish previously applied is water-based. If it was oil-based, then it will not adhere properly and peel off. We suggest either sanding it down to bare wood and applying our AFM Polyureseal BP.
