While Hard Seal is non-toxic, it is not food grade. We recommend a finish that is food grade. Children tend to put anything and everything into their mouths and this is why food grade products are important. Our AFM Naturals Clear Penetrating Oil and Bioshield Herbal Oil are food-grade and would provide your crib with a finish that is safe for children. Both of these products are to be applied over raw wood.
