Marble is generally porous and requires a sealer. However, unpolished or honed marble is more porous and polished marble is much less porous. It is difficult to seal polished marble due to the density and tightness of the surface. Because of this, most penetrating sealers contain solvents to help the sealer penetrate past the surface. Unfortunately, these are generally hazardous to your health. Also, most sealers include antimicrobial agents to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. Unfortunately, we do not offer any sealers for polished marble. However, If your marble is unpolished or honed, (not polished) we recommend 2 or 3 thin coats of our AFM Mexeseal. This non-toxic very low VOC sealer dries completely clear and will not yellow over time. We do not recommend AcriGlaze because it is an artist's glaze. It is not intended to seal Marble countertops or flooring.
