Under the "Features and Benefits" for the Ext. Polyureseal, it says that to get the satin finish you have to apply the gloss finish as a first coat, then the satin finish for a final satin finish. Is this correct? I need to buy both finishes?

This requirement is only if you want the clearest visual of the wood, for example on a table top. It's perfectly acceptable to use several coats of the same sheen. The difference between the two options is minimal and hardly perceptible.
