Would this be safe to use to seal a cabinet that will hold dishes for food use (I want to seal the entire inside and outside of a cabinet that will hold plates and cups). Would it be safe to eat off of those dishes if they were kept in a cabinet sealed with this, or is there a more food-safe product we can use? Looking for a matte finish! Also, not sure if this cabinet has a small amount of a water- or oil-based varnish on it already. Which products that would be safe to put food dishes on top of should we order samples of? We'd like to encapsulate potential harmful chemicals on the furniture, while being able to safely store the dishes and wipe down the shelves with non-toxic cleaner, as able. Any recommendations? Thank you! :)

People use Acrylacq on/in cabinets and drawers all the time. If you do have oil based anything on it, though, it probably will not stick. So you'd really need to sand them down to the raw wood so you know it'll stick. And order small samples online to test for adherence.
