You mention that the pinewood slabs are "treated" - do you mean these are recently pressure treated? For pressure-treated lumber we recommend you wait 8-12 months before sealing.If going over with Hard Seal, to seal off-gassing we recommend 3 coats. 1 gallon of Hard Seal covers approximately 350 square feet (SF) in a single coat, depending on the porosity of the wood... 350 divided by 3 is 116 SF of 3 coat coverage. 5 Gallon size would get you 5 times that, 583 SF of 3 coat coverage.
