I have white glossy cabinets that remain smelly with a new paint smell on the inside years later (only the cabinets that have interior shelves that were painted). I am unsure if the paint is oil based, but am hoping you can recommend what product I try to seal the inside of the cabinets? Thanks!

Because there is a chance it's oil based, I suggest you first do a mild sand to cut down the gloss. After wiping that down and making certain it's clean, apply the AFM Safecoat Transitional Primer (as it is able to be used on many oil based products) and then the AFM Safecoat Ecolacq, following manufacturer's instructions on both. You may order untinted small samples of both online to test first.
