Our hardwood, bamboo, cork and linoleum all clean about the same, i.e. with very little water and a damp mop. When it comes to warmth on bare feet, cork takes first prize, then Marmoleum, then hardwood and bamboo. Cork has a higher R-value and is a better thermal and acoustical insulator than the other types. Compared to ceramic or porcelain tile, they are night and day apart. But compared to one another, the differences are minimal. We offer two types of cork flooring: traditional and waterproof. Both have the same insulating properties. Our Amorim waterproof cork is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, basements etc. The traditional cork floors are water-resistant but excessive moisture can cause issues. If there is no excessive moisture in your room such as: bedrooms, rec rooms, living or dining, then there is no real need for a waterproof floor. Traditional cork flooring has a built in cork underlayment which adds warmth to the floor.
