Hard Seal does not waterproof.For this project you can consider Vermont Natural Coatings (VNC) Penetrating Water Proofer, which is a non-toxic exterior sealer for raw wood: wood siding, fences, outdoor furniture, and most other outdoor wood surfaces. It may be applied to pressure-treated wood after a minimum of 6 months. It is not suitable on wood that is submerged, sealed, painted, or below grade. Penetrating Water Proofer is infused with juniper, which is nature�s strongest natural wood preservative. It stabilizes and seals wood from the inside which controls moisture absorption and extends the life of the wood by reducing mold, mildew and decay. Penetrating Water Proofer dries clear and leaves no topcoat, allowing the wood's color to age naturally.
