Hello� I have moved into a man apartment with vinyl tiles and there is a heavy vinyl odour in two rooms. The tiles are very old and I see evidence of mold coming up through the seams in a few places. It�s a rental and have no hope of the landlord checking the subflooring or replacing the tiles. Would this product work to seal the vinyl and also seal the seams? AFM Hard Seal may be used on some vinyl (be sure to test first for adhesion) to block VOC emissions but the surface must be clean, dry and free of other sealers, oil or wax. It may need to be lightly sanded to provide some tooth in order for the Hard Seal to bond well. Please note, this has a gloss sheen and will not seal the seams, nor will it prevent the growth of mold. Hard Seal is also NOT recommended for floors as it can not handle abrasion well.
