Would Hard Coat be the correct product to use on stained T1-11 to seal against formaldehyde for interior installation (family room)??

As long as the stain is water based, you may use the HardSeal over it as long as you don't mind high gloss. If you'd prefer a little less sheen, use the AFM SafeCoat, Acrylacq. You may order small samples online to test first. Both of these products are formulated to stick to most water based stains.
