I bought an antique painted cabinet, painted green. I want to use it in the kitchen so I want to cover the paint with something. Is AFM SafeCoat Acrylacq a good choice? The description says "Raw wooden stained or previously painted cabinetry," Does that mean it can go on painted wood or wood that was painted and then had the paint removed??? Or is AFM SafeCoat, Polyureseal BP a better choice???

Acrylacq is the perfect product to go over a cabinet, painted green or not, provided that the paint used is a water based paint. If your paint is oil based, well ... water and oil do not mix. If you are uncertain we suggest you buy a sample and test on an inconspicuous area of your cabinet to make sure you get a good bond before committing to a whole bottle. If the green paint is a glossy paint, we would suggest you scuff it up a little before hand so the product has some teeth to grab on to.
