I'm creating closet shelves with raw MDF boards. I'm concerned about formaldehyde off-gassing from the MDF. How to incorporate the odor-blocking sealants into my workflow? Apply AFM Safecoat Hard Seal (or is Safe Seal better here?) on the raw MDF, wait for sealer to dry, then apply primer and cabinet paint? Or apply primer and cabinet paint first, then apply the AFM Hard Seal as the final layer? I need the final finish to be durable and ideally a semi-gloss texture. Thank you

AFM SafeSeal, HardSeal, Transitional Primer and Zero VOC paint all act as sealers of formaldehyde as well as other VOCs. For a final semi-gloss sheen, we recommend 1 coat AFM Transitional Primer and 2 coats of AFM Zero VOC Semi-Gloss paint. Nothing else is needed.
