I am fixing to lay laminate flooring in my living room and they said it's not waterproof is there anything I can buy and put on the seams and joints to keep water damage?

No. Not really. If you coat the seams and joints with something then there is every probability that those seams and joints will no longer work and then you have a floor that will not click together as intended. Laminate flooring also is smooth and has no wear layer, so you cannot sand the top after it has been installed and put a waterproof finish over top it.
