Much depends on what the bed frame was painted with. If it was painted with an oil-based paint then we carry no clear sealers that can help. You must repaint the bed with AFM Safecoat Transitional Primer, and then follow that up with AFM Safecoat Zero VOC Paint - these two products together will seal in chemical preservatives that are off-gassing from the wood or the paint. If the bed was painted with a water-based paint, then you can use the Acrylacq over the paint to seal in chemical off-gassing from the paint and the wood. The choice between the sheens is an aesthetic one, mostly. Gloss will be shiny, Matt will be not-shiny, and Satin is in between. Gloss will make it slightly easier to clean.
