Hi Quinn,I would not recommend this Acriglaze for the project you described. This is not a waterproofing sealer and would not hold up against the constant watering and moisture contact standard in garden applications. For garden planters, including organic vegetable growing, I would recommend our PolyWhey, Ext, Penetrating Stain. It is a stain and sealer in one and performs best when you can coat all sides of your container. It does come in a clear for those not wanting to add color to their wood but keep in mind the pigments in this stain help prevent uv damage. If you are wanting a product that forms more of a waterproofing membrane you can coat the inside of the containers with AFM Safecoat Dynoseal. This product is only for the interior of the container and lacks the necessary uv inhibitors to be applied on the exterior of the containers.
