The AFM SafeCoat Polyureseal BP is a clear sealer and does not add any color to the wood. To know which sheen is going to be the closest match with your current floors, you'll need to do a test patch on the unfinished floor. The Polyureseal is available in Matte, Satin and Gloss sheens and we offer samples sizes on 3-4oz for $9.95, which includes the cost of shipping, so that you can test before placing a full order.Just to be clear, this product cannot be applied directly over a previously oiled surface as it will not adhere properly. In order to use it over oil, the floor would need to be re-sanded in order to remove the oil. Another option would be to use Zinsser Bin Shellac clear primer over the oil. Then apply two coats of our AFM Polyureseal BP over the top of it. Yes, it's extra work, but it's the only way to block the emissions of the solvents in the previous coating and bond properly.
