I'm building a dining table, coffee table, and desk. Is this a good option for all 3? Ideally the dining table would be food grade.

It is a good option for all three, yes. If you are wanting food grade, that would be the AFM SafeCoat, Naturals Clear Penetrating Oil. However, that won't have the protection that the Oil Wax has. Order small samples online to test first.
