it depends if this hardwood has been pre-finished with an oil coat or a water-based finish. If it is an oil-based finish, we have nothing you can use to overcoat that and stop the off-gassing. Best to get some big fans and open your windows to get this to off-gas on its own faster. Your other option, if you have enough of a wear layer, would be to sand the floors to remove the oil-saturated layer of prefinish, and only then could you add a finish like Polyureseal BP. Be warned, this is a next-level DIY or hire a professional project; sand too little and the Poly BP will not stick, sand too much and you ruin your floor. If it is a water-based finish, then yes, you can use Polyureseal BP. If the floor is glossy, you will need to lightly sand/de-gloss it first to create a textured surface for the Poly BP to grip onto. These solutions would work if it is an engineered hardwood or solid hardwood floor. If you have a laminate floor, we have nothing for that, you cannot sand a laminate floor.
