Wanted to add to reviews of this product. My home is now 20 years old and the original owners had this flooring installed throughout the main living areas; foyer, kitchen, laundry room, living room and dining area. It still looks amazing. Even with a prior family with kids and now my 80lb goldendoodle giving it the test on a daily basis, the wood and finish are holding up exceptionally well. It is reassuring however, to know refinishing is a possibility if needed in the future. I am hoping to install this product in my master bedroom in the near future. Although slightly less in thickness than the original floor, it should not be a problem maintaining a suitable transition. (?) View answer

I ordered samples of the Kahrs Avanti floor in three colors... Oak Lecco, Red Oak Nature, and Oak Pima. The Oak Pima and Red Oak Nature were both 7.88" wide, as written in the description. The width of the Oak Lecco sample is 1/2" smaller (not measuring 7.88" wide like the others). Why is this? Is this color a different width board than the others? View answer

We are considering one of your floors to replace artificial maple flooring in our kitchen (it has maple cabinets that give the space a very warm and light feeling). We see two different kinds of flooring (but alas only one of those seems to come in maple): Kahrs Life Wide Hardwood flooring and Kahrs Avanti Tres Hardwood flooring. What is the difference? I already have Kahrs engineered flooring in my home, I want to do the floor in another room but think the flooring color may not be available. My previous flooring was, Oak Chene, silk matt lacquer. Do you know which product might be compatible to this? Thank you. View answer

This is my first time installing floor, I plan to do it myself without a contractor. The base of my bedroom floor is thin wooden planks with some staples that used to stabilize carpet (removed now). What else do I need to purchase in terms of tools and under layer, other than the wood? Do I need a layer underneath? If so, what is recommended? Thanks so much. View answer
