Hello, used 2 coats on teak and mahogany bench swing...love the product, the way it goes on, no awful smell all great. Question: I noticed after several weeks the wood grain was raised considerably and felt dry. We tested with water and it does bead up. Is it typical for the grain to raise after application? I am building a small kit home on Helical piles in MO. There will be 2 inch pine tongue and groove flooring directly over the joists with no vapour barrier or insulation. The joists and skids are rough sawn hemlock. Would the Vermont Natural Coatings, Exterior, Penetrating Water Proofer be a good product to coat the underside of the 2" flooring, the joists, and the skids with? The skids will only contact the brackets of the helical piles and not come in contact with the ground at all. There should be air flow and limited if any sun exposure. I am concerned with preventing moisture buildup, mold, etc.... and not having to reapply a product later on because that would be extremely difficult to access. View answer

I have a new cedar fence that I'm looking to seal against weather and UV rays to preserve it longer; which of your products would you recommend for a brand new fence? I do not want to stain it or add any color to the wood; Id rather have the natural color of the wood come through. Thank you! View answer

Is this safe to use on a indoor/outdoor play gym made from birch plywood. This is the sealer they recommended but I don't see anything about this being safe for kids to be playing around on or whether it can be used on something that will be inside the house half the year (winter months) and outside half the year (summer months). Also how long would it be usable after opening. As in if I plan or reapplying every so often can I buy in bulk and save leftovers for a prolonged period? View answer
