I have a model unit 101 purchased in 1999 with only one ceramic filter, but it was stored and never used. I have two ceramic filters (one spare) which were just sitting inside the unit but not yet attached I read that the Aqua Rain filters out fluoride, but after 100 times used, something has to be added to continue filtering out the fluoride? I need clarification. View answer

I have a Aqua Rain Gravity Filter system bought in 1998 that is 20 inches high, Stainless Steel with 4 filters in it. My second set is wearing down and I'm looking to replace the filters but on my unit the filters are held in place with big white plastic wing nuts underneath. The filters on your site do not show a wing nut, will they fit? and are they the same, but with a different type of nut to hold them to the upper unit? Also being retired now, I have to watch my expenses,my previous replacement set of filters in 2011 was $79.00 I know things go up, so can I use just 2 filters in my unit and seal off the other two holes, and if so do you have plugs that can be used to do so. I would appreciate any answers Thank You for your time.Marty View answer

I am on a municipal water system, and I would like to be able to filter and drink the water, however, I am wondering how long this filter can possibly last removing the typical chlorine out of the water? It seems like the strong points of the filter are removing microbes, contaminants, etc., but when removing chemicals on a daily/weekly basis, what would prevent this filter from not filling up like a typical carbon based filter? If i can't last long doing the aforementioned, then it would not be any more cost effective using it for that purpose. Please advise Thank you. View answer
