I would like to order a shoe rack that is described as "Iron frame with satin pewter". This seems vague and it is from china. To be on the safe side, I would like to paint it with something to seal in any off gassing that may occur. Would this product be appropriate for that? I have always thought all these wire storage racks that you get from places like Home Depot are not likely to be toxic and I have many of those, not sure how true that is, but this shoe rack looks to be more of painted finish than the typical wire racks and has 'metal mesh' for shelves. I painted a gourd with dyes & then coated it with an acrylic clear coat. I didn't like what I painted afterwards & painted the poly whey coat on outside to make it shiny to see if that helped. No. Other than it did it's job of coating & shine. I'd love to be able to paint over it all & not waste the gourd. Can I paint with acrylic paint over the dried poly whey product?
