I am making a cupcake stand for a client. It will be a branched tree trunk holding cross-cut wood discs as the food platforms. I'm looking for something safe for food contact. Is this BioShield Wood Conditioner appropriate, does it require reapplication, and is a sample available? View answer

I have a nursery dresser I purchased that after a month still seems to off gassing. It only smells when I open the dresser drawers. The drawers are a plywood and the inside of the dresser itself is painted. Which one of your products do you recommend to seal the drawers and the inside of the dresser? The dresser finish is a matte or a satin white. View answer

I am building a small kit home on Helical piles in MO. There will be 2 inch pine tongue and groove flooring directly over the joists with no vapour barrier or insulation. The joists and skids are rough sawn hemlock. Would the Vermont Natural Coatings, Exterior, Penetrating Water Proofer be a good product to coat the underside of the 2" flooring, the joists, and the skids with? The skids will only contact the brackets of the helical piles and not come in contact with the ground at all. There should be air flow and limited if any sun exposure. I am concerned with preventing moisture buildup, mold, etc.... and not having to reapply a product later on because that would be extremely difficult to access. View answer

Hello- I am finishing a couple walls with Durastain Pro (Iron Wood) Stain. I have a leftover gallon of SafeCoat Hardseal in Gloss that I want to use as the initial coat over the stain and then add a top coat of Acrylacq in Satin or Gloss. Is there any concerns or issues with this? Thanks! View answer

I discovered when I used Bon Ami (calcium carbonate) on my Marmoleum that I was able to get some long-standing stains off of the floor. I have faithfully used the Marmoleum cleaner and finish for the last five years, but I think I can restore some bad staining with Bon Ami. If I do that, and then apply finish after I'm done, will it hurt the floor? View answer
