I have 2 inch thick white oak countertops. 4 months ago I naturally "stained" them with a water and coffee combo. They have been dry for 4 months. Can I use this- safe coat naturals clear penetrating oil- over them as they are? Or do I have to try to sand out the dry coffee stain. (Online most people coffee stain with coffee and vinegar, I did not do that.) Thank you!! View answer

Hi there, I'm doing a cedar T&G cabin restoration and I'm looking for a clear coat that will not change the natural look whatsoever. My client had a mold problem due to no ventilation, humid climate & no circulation. I sanded and prepared all the cedar for paint. My clients love the look of the natural cedar, they want to keep this look but every transparent product I've tested so far darkens it. She also wants a gloss on the ceilings and flat on the walls which is basically asking for the impossible to have a variation in the colors but keep the natural Cedar color. Is there a clear or water based transparent product that has had success with this? Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated! View answer

Hi!We are building a wooden bookshelf indoors and we need a product that gives some protection for the wood but it does not change the appearance of the wood. We would like to keep the untreated appearance of the wood (no yellowing, no shiny surface). Is it possible with this product? View answer

The exterior wall of our basement has been leaking for a few years when it rains. Black mold is appearing. This is not a dripping situation inside our basement but just a damp one. We spent a bundle last week on having our yard graded and it did nothing, sad to say. I'm looking to seal this wall very well (cinder block). Which product do you recommend? We want to go green. Thank you and thanks for creating these safer products. View answer

I'm curious about the perm rating of marmoleum: to what extent is marmoleum vapor permeable? In the passive house construction world, it's important for every material in the wall/floor/ceiling assemblies to be air and water tight, but to be vapor permeable.Since marmoleum sheets are adhered to the floor with a continuous layer of glue/mastic, or in the case of the click tile product the marmoleum is glued to HDF which is in turn glued to cork, I also wonder if, even though marmoleum on it's own may have an excellent perm rating, the glues render that null? It seems like glues would perform, from a vapor standpoint, like a sheet of plastic... I'd love insight on this! View answer

Will this work on Baltic birch that will be exposed to high temperatures, as well as sub freezing temperatures? Looking to seal the interior of a teardrop trailer that will be stored outdoors in Nevada. I'm steering away from the polyureseal as blushing from condensation is a possibility. View answer

I have a wash and pack room on my small organic farm. The floor is concrete and needs to be sealed. It gets a lot of traffic daily and at least one day per week can have water on it for several hours while we wash vegetables (not underwater). The floor needs to not be slippery in any way. Is the Green Building Supply, Penetrating Concrete Sealer what I should use? I also have a walk in cooler with a concrete floor (insulated underneath). Can I also use this product with temperatures that remain between 37-43? Thanks! View answer

I've gotten interested in color washing walls. Every recipe I've seen so far has used latex glaze that has high vocs. Will this work as a substitute, mixed with an acrylic paint and water to color wash over an existing acrylic layer? I am looking at using Behr premium plus paint which is acrylic. View answer

Hello. I have LEED Certified oiled wood flooring in my condo. It is stained dark walnut. Currently I clean it with Bona floor cleaner and a mop. , and vacuum in between. There are small areas or wear near kitchen sink and a few nicks but it is otherwise beautiful. Will this product revive these areas as well as protect the floor from more scratches and nicks? How do you apply it to a large area? View answer

I need a stain color for my indoor wood floors that has no VOC"s. I usually do natural floors with a water based finish, but I would love to be able to stain the floors a darker color. Are there any stain colors that are water based or have no Voc"s? Again, this would be for a wood floor that runs throughout the house. View answer
