Question: Can this be used as a finish over wood stain on oak furniture?
Answer: You'll not want to use the EXT for this.For furniture, we'd recommend AFM Safecoat Polyureseal BP instead. AFM Safecoat Polyureseal BP is a low VOC sealer that creates a durable, long-lasting finish and seals in off-gassing of hazardous chemicals. It may be used over most water-based stains or finishes in an interior setting.NOTE: This product is not to be used over oil-based polyurethanes or oil-based products. Order small samples online to test in person before making your final purchase.
Question: Would this wax work well on a sealed Earth floor?
Answer: Depending on what the floor is currently sealed with, yes this could work. This product is intended for porous oiled surfaces (usually wood, stone, or concrete) and is not for polyurethaned or lacquered surfaces. Surfaces must be clean, free of grease, absorbent and dry. Question: How many ounces are in the sample?
Answer: Liquid samples of AFM are about 3 ounces.
Question: I need to seal a new white cement counter top. It absorbs water readily so it's able to absorb liquids. Everyone I call says they have nothing that is non- toxic to help as it needs to be able to penetrate the concrete. Someone suggested this product and said we'd need to re buff ever so often. As an off label?
Answer: Countertop cement/concrete is different than regular concrete. As of now, we do not have a product recommended for cement/concrete countertops.
Question: What are the steps to prepare a previously waxed or hard wax oiled floor for reapplication of hardwax oil or other like product? Is sanding down to bare wood necessary if staying with an oil/wax finish? Thanks
Answer: You will want to lightly sand the surface to open the pores a little, then make sure to clean up any dust and debris before applying the new coating.
Question: Does this product come in a sample size? I don't see the option under 'size'.
Answer: Bioshield Floor & Furniture Hardwax #32 does not come in a sample size. It is available in two sizes: 13.5-Fl Oz and 85-Fl Oz.
Question: Can this be used on painted woods?
Answer: No, it cannot. It is meant to be used on raw wood.
Question: We have polished mud floors that were treated initially with several coats of linseed oil, left to dry for quite a while and then waxed with Bioshield #32 and buffed. That was a couple years ago and was appears as if it needs to be reapplied. Our question is whether we should apply any oil, either Bioshield Hard Oil #9 or another oil first before reapplying the Bioshield #32? Or is there something else we should do before reapplying and buffing with the Bioshield wax #32?
Answer: Without seeing the floor, we can't really answer the question of what you should do....but...If the wax simply needs reapplication in wear areas, with a final overall buffing, then no oil is required.But if the floor has dried out, they need to strip the wax before applying oil. Hard Oil has certainly been used on these floors by many people.This inquiry is really no different than if it were on wood. Somebody that understands the extent and nature of the wear by looking at it needs to decide what needs to be done. There are no hard and fast rules...
Question: I have new solid oak floors that have been sealed with AFM naturals oil wax finish. They are beautiful when looking straight down at them; however when looking lengthwise they look dry and show sanding variations. (We took this flooring from tree to floor after years of drying time and we sanded them instead of having a professional). Would the bioshield help even out the look? Also we live in a very sandy area and have pets. There will be a lot of traffic on these floors. Would I need to strip the bioshield and start over periodically or can I just continue to apply and buff?
Answer: It's probably getting that look/feel because it wasn't all run through a planer and professionally sanded, etc, so there are just areas that are taking it differently. AFM feels you may try the Bioshield Hardwax over it. You'll need to order it and try some first as they have never been tested for use together. Question: Hello, I was advised to use this wax for tadelakt plaster finish - what is the coverage per ounce?
Answer: Coverage (1 Coat)13.5-Ounce size = 150-200 SF 85-Ounce size = 944-1258 SF
Question: Can I leave the wax on overnight?
Answer: Yes, but it will be harder to buff out in the morning than if you buffed it sooner.
Question: I use supplemental oxygen due to a serious lung illness. Does your paste wax put off a strong odor?
Answer: No. It is a zero VOC product that is mainly beeswax, carnauba wax and no solvents. Most of our products can be tolerated by chemically sensitive customers. This is a wonderful product and I doubt you will find anything as clean and pure.
Question: How long does hard oil #9 have to dry before i use Bioshield floor and furniture wax?
Answer: per the Floor & Furniture Hardwax application instructions (link below) : "the oil must be completely cured before applying this wax."Bioshield Hard Oil has a 24 hour dry time under ideal conditions. Drying times may vary due to application method, surface porosity, and climate. Question: How long is it until you can put furniture on the waxed floor? (This will not be the floor's first coat of wax, so it will be a thin layer and buffing with an electric buffer, if it makes a difference)

Question: Why can't I find number 36?
Answer: Bioshield no longer makes #36 Hard Oil Wax.
Question: I have a copper top table that I've used Johnson paste wax on. Will this work on top of that?
Answer: Yes, we reached out to Bioshield to confirm. They said Floor & Furniture Hardwax should work just as well as the Johnson's paste wax ... VERY thin coat or two, vigorously buffed when each coat is dry.
Question: Has anyone buffed using a buff attachment for a drill? What is the best buffing tool to use?
Answer: Attachments are available on our website for small 3" scrub pads that attach to cordless drills. Some hardware or box stores offer them as well for larger orbital sanders.
Question: How much do I need for 301 sq feet floor?
Answer: Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardwax was made to refinish and protect oiled floors. The 13.5 oz container covers 150-200 SF so you would need two containers. The manufacturer recommends buffing this in with a buffing machine that can be rented at most rental stores.NOTE: This is NOT made for floors finished with polyurethane or lacquer.
Question: How long does this wax take to fully cure? I've applied it 2 days ago and there are still footprints if I walk on it. Can it be buffed again at this point?
Answer: I reached out to Bioshield and they said smearing/printing is ALWAYS due to inadequate buffing. Buff, preferably by machine, until it stops. If it happens to be over applied, you just need to keep buffing. This will solve it.

Answer: Sorry, this is made for oil-waxed floors and not for polyurethaned floors.
Question: Can I use this product on a little table (Made of:concrete/granite stone powder /natural jute fibers and water) that will live outdoors in a mild Southern California climate?
Answer: Sorry, Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardwax is for indoor use only. Strong sun or heat will degrade it. If you are looking for something to seal the table, our AFM Polyureseal EXT would be a better product.
Question: Does this product works over Venetian plaster which is exterior and smoothly shiny?
Answer: Bioshield Floor & Furniture Hardwax is for interior use only as the wax will melt if exposed to direct sun and heat.
Question: Is this wax pet safe?
Answer: Floor & Furniture Hardwax is all natural and non toxic, if used correctly it should be fine for pets and chemically sensitive people.
Question: Can i use this on unsealed concrete floors that have been painted with chalk paint?
Answer: Wax can go on just about anything, BUT if your hoping that the Floor & Furniture Hard wax is going to significantly improve scratch resistance or ameliorate any adhesion issues of the paint to the concrete, your expectations need to be lowered. In the first case, only a bit of improvement, and in the 2nd case absolutely not. Both REQUIRE machine buffing. You should also know that The Floor & Furniture Hardwax, will probably 'enrich' the color tone and amber the color to some unknowable degree. It will improve wash-ability to a slight degree. The #39 Wax Finish would be a better choice for several reasons:1: easier to apply 2: more water resistant 3: won't change the color very much if at all. Generally, we discourage wall paint on concrete floors, but if your going to use chalk paint on the floor, it would hold up the best if it were coated with at least two coats of the Aqua Resin Floor Finish.
Question: Will this product work well on non-polyurethane solid oak flooring? Bruce Dark and Rich no longer made.
Answer: If the hardwood flooring has been oiled and waxed and does not have a lacquer or polyurethane finish, then this will work. If you are not sure, we strongly suggest testing first in an inconspicuous area first.
Question: Is it ok over boiled linseed oil?
Answer: It is intended to go over other BioShield Oils products but it is likely that it would work over boiled linseed as well. Many of the BioShield oils have linseed oil in them. Oils must be completely cured before applying this wax. BioShield Hardwax should be applied in a thin, even coat with a lint-free cloth. The surface should then be thoroughly buffed with a dry cloth or brush after two-four hours. Large floors can also be buffed with a buffing pad - white on a machine buffer. For an even harder finish, the wax can be rebuffed two-four days after the initial buffing.
Question: Is it OK over acrylic sealed cement floor?
Answer: Bioshield Floor & Furniture Hardwax is made primarily for oiled floors or furniture. It will not bond well to shiny acrylic surfaces. If the surface is not shiny, it might work but it must be buffed with a buffer to perform well.
Question: Can I put this over a 2 part hardwood finish? Does this product need stripping at times?
Answer: Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardware is made for hardwood flooring as well as other woodwork. It is primarily designed for surfaces with an oiled finish and not polyurethanes. That's because waxes need to penetrate into a porous surface and a polyurethane finish is not porous. Normally there is no need to apply a wax over a polyurethane unless it has worn off. In that case, it's best to apply additional coats of poly, not wax. We offer a non-toxic polyurethane called AFM Safecoat Polyureseal BP which can be applied to most other water-based polyurethanes. Waxes usually wear off over time, just like polyurethanes, but faster. They can be stripped off but usually only need to be properly cleaned.
Question: What is the percentage of carnauba and beeswax?
Answer: According to the manufacturer's MSDS sheets posted in the downloads section for this product, the wax content is between 10%-30% by weight. This product contains 4 different waxes (Beeswax, Carnauba, Candelilla, and Cersein). Unfortunately the manufacturer has not released the individual percentage breakdown of each.
Question: Good for waxed wood floors? (We previously used Bruce/Armstrong Dark'n'Rich Liquid Paste Wax) -- and although this product is clear, would it help the wood's color become more apparent?
Answer: Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardwax is made of beeswax and Carnauba wax mainly. It was designed specifically for oiled or previously waxed floors. If there is a previous wax on the surface, it is unlikely that it will change the color. Waxes tend to enrich the color of the floor, if and only if, they are applied over a raw wood or oiled floor that has no other finish. Your best bet is to test and see how it performs.
Question: Is it harmful to dogs?
Answer: No. This is a natural, non-toxic zero VOC product made only with beeswax and Carnauba wax. We don't test on animals but if you are concerned, apply some on a separate piece of wood and see how your pet responds before applying to your floor or furniture.
Question: Is it good for granite polishing?
Answer: Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardwax can be used on raw granite but won't work very well if it has already been polished.
Question: Can wax be used to seal and wax a polished concrete floor that has not been sealed yet? the concrete floor is also in floor hot water heated
Answer: Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardwax should be buffed into the surface only after the flooring has been sealed. If the concrete has not been sealed first, once the wax wears off the concrete can be stained easily. Sealing polished concrete requires either mechanical or chemical etching because the surface is tight and non-porous. Unfortunately, we do not have any non-toxic sealers for polished concrete.
Question: Hi. Is the hardwax food safe? Can I use it on countertops and tables that will encounter food? I used the hard oil #9 on my table first and am planning to now apply the hard wax. Is this order of application also safe for countertops? Thanks!
Answer: Yes, that is the correct order of application and yes, the hardwax is food safe.
Question: can this be used on steel like a paste wax?
Answer: Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardwax is created for wood. It's a paste wax that has many applications. To be sure, we suggest testing on a small area first.
Question: For unfinished hardwood floors do I need to use the bioshield penetrating oil sealer before using this wax or can I skip the sealer? Also, can i use a minwax stain prior to the wax?
Answer: Bioshield Penetrating Oil or Hard Oil must be used first to seal the wood. Otherwise, once the wax wears off, there is no protection and the floor will get dirty or absorb moisture and stain. This may work over minwax, however, it contains some ingredients that we don't recommend.
Question: Is the dark still available?
Answer: Sorry, this is only available in clear.
Question: Will this product work on an Oriental Rosewood table?
Answer: Yes, Bioshield Floor and Furniture Hardwax #32 will provide both moisture and abrasion resistance to any wood table including Rosewood. We recommend using our white scrub pads to buff the wax into the grain of the wood.
Question: does this product have paraffin?
