Is this product appropriate to seal a new, outdoor (under patio roof, will not be rained on) freshly assembled, painted by manufacturer, metal planter box? I want to seal the edges and prevent leaks at side seams for watering plants. If this product is not the proper one, do you have something that is?

HardSeal is only for interior use. It sounds to me like your wanting something more like a caulk, if your trying to seal edges.ChemLink, NovaLink 35 is meant to stick to :"Metal: Aluminum Metal: Galvanized ". But it's not meant to be a waterproofer.None of our caulks are actual waterproofers. So, it will help/be better than nothing, but we don't have a perfect fit for your project, sorry.
