What is the proper way to add sand to the paint to make the surface less slippery?

We have no formal recipe for adding aggregate to paint. But there is two ways that we know it can be added. Option #1. Mix your sand/aggregate into a bucket with your paint. Stir thoroughly and roll out the paint. Option #2. Roll out your paint per usual, and before it has a chance to dry sprinkle the sand/aggregate on top. Let the paint dry and brush away any loose aggregate. Repeat this same process with your next coat(s). We don't sell sand/aggregate for this purpose. But you can get it through big box hardware stores or amazon. Check out "Shark Skin Anti-slip Paint Additive"
